How Does The “SLAP” String Play?

This article is part of our limited edition ReString x Valldoreix Collaboration.
ReString x Valldoreix brought together two brands with a shared vision for modern tennis.
We've already written about the exclusive story behind the collaboration, so now it's time to talk about The “SLAP” String itself.
This article covers how The "SLAP" String actually plays on court, who will love hitting with it, and how to get access to this limited edition string.
The “SLAP” String Is Based on Zero
The “SLAP” String builds on Zero’s spin characteristics with subtle formula adjustments that create a distinct performance profile.
The six-sided shape creates excellent ball bite and grip on every stroke. When you accelerate through contact, the hexagonal shape digs into the ball and generates heavy topspin with minimal effort. You will be familiar with this feeling if you have played with Zero.
We’ve also brought our signature snapback from Zero and Sync to The “SLAP” String. The strings return to position quickly after each shot, maintaining consistent spin potential throughout your hitting session.
The string is available exclusively in 17G (1.23mm).
How The “SLAP” String Differs from Zero
The “SLAP” String plays slightly less explosive than Zero while maintaining the aggressive character you expect from a shaped polyester.
This tradeoff brings better precision. You get slightly more control and a muted feel on your shots compared with the lively and responsive feel of Zero.
The “SLAP” String offers a more forgiving feel than Zero on off-center contact. Mishits still provide reasonable depth and consistency, giving you confidence to always go for your shots.
The midnight black aesthetic creates a distinct visual identity compared to Zero's blue. The all-black packaging reinforces the limited edition nature of this collaboration release.
Who The “SLAP” String Is For
Aggressive baseliners who dictate from the back of the court will find The “SLAP” String matches their playing style perfectly.
Players wanting maximum spin can take advantage of the hexagonal profile and superior snapback. The string helps you create angles and push opponents off the court.
Modern game styles with full swings and long strokes also benefit. The string responds best when you commit to acceleration through the hitting zone.
Those wanting Zero-like performance with a touch more forgiveness should consider The “SLAP” String. You get similar spin potential and power with slightly more control and consistency.
Play With The “SLAP” String
This collaboration only happens once. When stocks run out, that's it.
If you want to experience what happens when two independent brands push performance boundaries together, now's your chance.
You can get The “SLAP” string on its own or get a set included when you purchase The "SLAP" Hoodie. Both items are only available while stocks last.
