Expert Guide to ReString Zero and Solinco Mach-10

Two strings generating lots of discussion among players are ReString Zero and Solinco Mach-10.

We've received lots of player feedback since launching Zero in Fall 2022.

And with Mach-10's 2025 launch creating fresh comparisons, this guide breaks down where each string excels and in our opinion, who should choose which.

Player Recommendations

For Power Players

Zero remains the gold standard for players seeking maximum power, spin, and snapback.

As PH Tennis noted, "we often compare tennis strings to Zero from ReString... Mach-10 sort of pushes up against it but sits just below it."

For aggressive baseliners who want to overwhelm opponents with pace and spin, Zero provides that "10 out of 10" intensity level.

Mach-10 offers what some describe as a "7 out of 10" version. That is substantial power with more manageable characteristics.

For Spin Generation

Zero's snapback technology creates industry-leading spin potential.

TennCom says that Zero has the ability to "deliver more sheer RPMs" than alternatives, with "snapback absolutely out of this world."

In the same video, he says Mach-10 provides "strong snapback" and maintains spin generation "in those later hours of playability" better than strings like Hyper-G, which "starts to notch and lock up."

For Control-Focused Players

We’ve seen the response that Mach-10 provides more control than Zero, with less “control/launchiness issues.”

However, if you are a real control-focused player, neither Zero nor Mach-10 are your best bets.

Players prioritizing precision should consider round poly strings like Sync.

Sync is specifically designed for control-oriented players seeking "excellent control, outstanding feel, and longer lasting playability" with optimal pocketing for pin-point accuracy.

For Durability

Zero and Sync feature specialized coatings designed for superior tension maintenance and extended playability.

We’ve had lots of feedback that Zero maintains its performance characteristics longer than traditional co-polys.

It is likely Mach-10 also lasts longer than traditional co-polys due to their "CloudFORM technology."

Considering both are modern co-polys with novel coatings, durability shouldn’t be a problem with either of these strings.

Our Expert Assessment

Both strings serve different audiences with different playing styles and priorities.

Choose Zero

Choose Zero if you want maximum power, spin, and snapback. If you are looking for a highly responsive and spin friendly experience, this one is for you.

Zero remains unmatched for players seeking the most extreme performance characteristics available, especially in the department of spin and power.

Choose Mach-10

Choose Mach-10 if you want more tempered power levels and control, as it provides more muted levels of responsiveness. If you edging towards a set up that is slightly less responsive with a touch more comfort, this one can be for you.

Alternatively, a Zero x Sync hybrid setup can achieve similar or even better results if you're looking for a slightly less lively setup than a full bed of Zero. You'll experience improved levels of pocketing, feel and overall control thanks to the Sync in the crosses.

Conclusion

The brightly colored, power-friendly, hexagonal co-poly category continues evolving.

Understanding your playing style and priorities remains key to making the right choice.

Whether you need maximum intensity or controlled power, there's a string engineered for your game.
