ReString Scorecards: What Do They Mean?

You might have noticed on our new website that we've included scorecards for each of our strings.

These scorecards can be found on our discovery page and each individual product page.

We're trying to bring objective metrics to subjective matters.

While other factors like tension and racket will affect performance, these scorecards show how our strings compare when all other things are equal.

In this article, I’ll go over what each of the scores mean and how Zero, Sync, and Vivo stack up against each other.

How The Scorecards Work

Comfort

Comfort measures how the string feels on your arm during play. This metric is important for players with sensitive tendons or past joint issues.

Zero rates 8 for comfort, Sync also scores 8, while Vivo comes in at 7.

If you need more arm comfort, Zero and Sync are your best options.

Control

Control assesses your ability to direct the ball accurately.

This determines if the ball goes where you intended upon contact.

Sync leads with a control rating of 9, making it perfect for players who want pin-point accuracy.

Vivo follows with 8, while Zero rates 7 for control.

Snapback and Spin

Snapback refers to how quickly strings return to place after hitting the ball. Good snapback enhances spin potential.

Zero is our top snapback string with a perfect 10 rating.

Sync follows with 9, giving both strings excellent spin generation capabilities.

Crisp Connection

This metric is specific to Vivo, focusing on direct feedback and clean contact. Vivo scores 9 for crisp connection.

It appeals to advanced players who prefer the feel the ball completely and generate their own spin and power.

Power

Power evaluates the string's responsiveness and energy return. High power means the ball flies off the strings with less effort from you.

Zero leads with 9 for power, followed by Vivo at 8.

Sync rates 7, making it ideal for players who want more control over their power output.

Playability Duration

This measures how long the string maintains its fresh feel.

Our industry-leading coating technology helps all our strings maintain performance longer than traditional options.

Zero and Sync both score 9 for playability duration, while Vivo rates 8.

All three strings will maintain their performance characteristics significantly longer than standard poly strings.

Making Your Choice

The scorecards provide a helpful guide for choosing strings based on your preferences.

While tennis string performance remains somewhat subjective, these metrics offer a comparative framework for decision-making.

If you want maximum spin and power, Zero will be your string.

For players seeking ultimate control and feel, Sync would be perfect.

Those looking for an all-around balance with crisp feedback should consider Vivo.

Each string brings something different to your game, and the scorecards help you understand exactly what that is.
