How to Hybrid reString Zero and Sync

The best way to hybrid reString Zero and reString Sync is to put Zero in the mains and Sync in the crosses, with Sync strung 2 lbs lower than Zero.

This setup gives you Zero's spin and power, with Sync adding control and feel.

reString Zero is a shaped string that grips the ball, while the round, slick reString Sync lets the mains snap back into place after each shot.

You can now easily try this hybrid setup with our Zero x Sync Hybrid Set.

Why We Recommend Zero in the Mains

Zero is shaped, so it grips the ball and adds spin. Your mains have the most impact on your stringbed, and spin matters more than ever, so that’s where you want it.

Your crosses have a different job, which is to let those main strings move freely. Sync is round and slick, so Zero can slide across it and snap back into place easily.

Both strings feature our Signature Snapback technology, which reduces friction between mains and crosses. This means more spin, for longer.

How Does the Zero x Sync Hybrid Play?

The Zero x Sync hybrid plays mainly with Zero's power and spin, with Sync adding control and feel. Of our three hybrid sets at launch, it is the most powerful.

Putting these two opposite strings in one stringbed, both with Signature Snapback, gives you a balanced setup that takes the best of each.

It suits aggressive baseliners who dictate with big groundstrokes, and players who rely on heavy topspin to dominate points but find a full bed of Zero too powerful.

In terms of performance, a simple way to picture it is roughly 70% Zero and 30% Sync.

Can You Put reString Sync in the Mains?

Yes, you can put reString Sync in the mains.

Both half sets in Zero x Sync are 20 ft (6.1 m), so nothing stops you flipping them.

However, we still strongly recommend the shaped Zero in the mains with the round Sync in the crosses for the reasons we outlined above.

Beyond our recommendation, reString Sync has earned praise as a cross string from top reviewers like Tenncom, who ranked it top tier.

The only real reason to use Sync in the mains is wanting a more controlled setup. But in that case, Slap x Sync or Vivo x Sync are more suited to you.

Hey, I was interested in trying out ReString Zero and Sync. I am originally an RPM Blast user but I found out that the tension dies pretty quick and the slickness on the string disappears quickly too. So I studied ReString strings. But I have a question. It says the recommended tension for both Sync and Zero is 2 lbs below my original tension. If I’m trying to utilize the tension in the crosses 2 lbs lower than the mains to maximize snapback, do I have to decrease both the mains and crosses by 2 lbs than my original tension first, THEN decrease the crosses by 2 lbs to maximize snapback as well? Also could you possibly consider adding a 100m reel for all strings as well? Thank you for your time and consideration in reading and hopefully replying to this comment.
